2016: Maxichamps – a new chapter in scale 43 miniature models for Paul’s
Model Art GmbH

Maxichamps with an emphasized X is not only a new name, it is a statement.
It stands for the known quality and an amazing price performance ratio,
which is our reaction to our customers‘ demands.

In the past years retail prices for high quality model cars have steadily
increased. The reasons for this were beyond our control: the exchange rate
decline for the Euro and the rising manufacturing costs in the far east.
Thus collecting for enthusiasts became more difficult.

As a manufacturer we did not want to follow this trend deedless. We were
able to achieve the balancing act between high quality Minichamps and
Maxichamps and as a result created a whole new collector field for model car

2012: Minichamps did it again and completed the hattrick:

For the third time in row MINICHAMPS was distinguished as ?Premium Brand? in collecting
Furthermore the MINICHAMPS Porsche 908L placed first in 1:43 Classic and the model of a Porsche 918 RSR was ranked first in 1:43 Current. Readers of german mag Modellfahrzeug ranked MINICHAMPS models second in 1:18 Classic and in bikes, as well as third in 1:18 Current
Particularly favourable is that MINICHAMPS placed second in the contest for remarkable innovations by a model of the BMW M3 GT2 Art Car.

2011: Minichamps once more distinguished as Premium Brand

Once again the eligible award has been granted to MINICHAMPS. Conjointly with the award on Porsche 918 Spyder in scale 1:43 as being the ?model car of the year 2011?, the readers of ?Modell Fahrzeug? distinguished MINICHAMPS.
More Top5 positions have been archived in collectibles / motorbikes, collecting 1:18 current, collecting 1:18 classic, collecting 1:43 high-volume classics, collecting 1:43 commercial vehicles and last but not least in super model 2011.

2010: Minichamps is Premium Brand

The die-cast models by Minichamps are the best. The competent readers of the magazine ?Modellfahrzeug? have come to this decision and have awarded the title ?Premium Brand 2010?.

2009: New scale

Minichamps presents a whole new range of street and racing cars in scale 1:64

2008: Multiple awards granted to MINICHAMPS

Minichamps can resemble on a year with numerous awards. At the readers´ choice awards of the magazine ?Modellfahrzeug?, for the model cars of the year 2008, Minichamps achieved a total of four first prizes in numerous categories, as well as the ?innovation price? for the Minichamps Museum. Two further awards for the ?model car of the year 2008?, were given to Minichamps by the ?Modell Magazin? in the following categories:
Collector 1:18 Street ? Mercedes Benz 300 SL Roadster
Collector 1:43 Street ? Borgward Isabella
For the first time, Minichamps, on the toy fair 2009, awarded ten model car dealers with the ?retailer of the year 2008? price. The price was awarded for high professional competence, the service quality and the convincing merchandise presentation.

Minichamps achieved five further awards at the ?Model of the year 2008? election, held by the magazine ?Auto-Modell-Report? in the following categories:

Collector 1:43 ? Rolls Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe 2007,

2007: Minichamps is the runner up

Selected by the readers of the model car magazine ?Modellfahrzeug?, Minichamps is the runner up of four first place awards in 2007, this is more than any other competitor.
The Bentley Blower 1930 receives not only the first place in the category ?1:18 business?, but also achieves the ?SUPER-MODELLFAHRZEUG?, so the first price for the best model car throughout all categories of the year 2007. Victorious are also the Porsche 934 Jägermeister in the category ?Collector 1:43?, as well as the Vincent Black Shadow in the category ?Collector Bikes?. As a result, Minichamps can look back to a total of 85 awards.

2006: Top-Award won

Paul´s Model Art / MINICHAMPS wins the top awards in the reader?s choice of the magazine Modellfahrzeug with the Mercedes 300 SEL 6.8 AMG in scale 1:43 and 1:18. The first place is achieved in the category best model car in scale 1:43 and 1:18 and additionally the model is awarded the ?model of the year prize in scale 1:18?. This is the first time in the fifteen year history of this model car magazine that a die-cast model has won three awards at once.

2005: Classic bikes

The Honda CB 750 is the first classic bike built in scale 1:6 to enter into the MINICHAMPS program.

2004: Innovative technologies & new series introduced

First resin models in scale 1:43 are produced, first tractor models (scale 1:18) and the first classic racing bike in scale 1:12 are built.

2003: World-first 1.18 Truck-replica introduced

First 1:18 scale replica of a classic truck worldwide: Mercedes Benz L 6600 with functional doors, bonnet, steering, trailer coupling, flatbed loading planes and suspension. Its seats are lined with genuine leather. The model is half a meter long and has a weight of 2.5 kg.

2002: Pink Pigs & more

Special gag: First model of a racing car with sound chip (Porsche 917 / 20 ´Pink Pig´); Model of the year Award for Setra S8 coach and second place for Magirus fire engine; Formula One Pit Stop Crews of several teams; a 1:12 scale model of the Triumph Bonneville 650 T120 equipped with individually plugged spokes; introduction of the JAMES BOND collection in scale 1:43 and racing helmets in scale 1:2.

2001: More than 200 new products introduced

At the International Toy Fair Nuremberg Paul´s Model Art / MINICHAMPS presents far over 200 new models – likely the most attractive program in die-cast business for the year 2001. Further enlargement of the product range of classic cars and military vehicles; introduction of Magirus Deutz S 6500 fire engine with extractable aerial ladder. The great success of the Ducati model lead to co-operation with other producers of motorbikes, such as Honda, Suzuki and Yamaha.

2000: MINICHAMPS discloses multiples premieres at int. toy fair

At the international toy fair in Nuremberg the first military vehicle in scale 1:35th developed by MINICHAMPS is presented. A further première is taking place with the presentation of the first racing motorbike made by MINICHAMPS, a model that stuns with its unequalled level of detail. Creation of the first motor bike replica in scale 1:12th: Ducati 996. The first classical truck in scale 1:43 is produced: The Mercedes L 3500.

1999: Focus on classic cars in 1:18

By the development of the first classic car in scale 1/18 a further market niche is occupied. Cars of German production constitute the main area of that product range. Creation of the first old-timer replica in scale 1:18th: Porsche 904 GTS 1964.

1998: Trucks, trucks, trucks…

Mercedes-Benz entrusts MINICHAMPS with the development of a truck replica in scale 1:43. This spurs the development of an extensive range of very detailed truck replicas in the following years, also including race trucks. – Creation of the first truck replica in scale 1:43: Mercedes-Benz Atego.

1997: MINICHAMPS introduces new scale

Creation of the first replica in scale 1:12: McLaren Honda MP4/4 Ayrton Senna 1988.

1996: MINICHAMPS set up, partner won

Setting up of Minichamps GmbH as German sales department of the PMA Group. Mrs. Romy Lang becomes Shareholder and Managing Director. Upon request of the BMW Company MINICHAMPS enters new territory in developing motor bike models. Photo-etched brake discs and wheel spokes are characteristic quality features of the replicas from the beginning. BMW honours the high quality standard by its decision to have motor bike models developed and manufactured exclusively by MINICHAMPS. Creation of the first motor bike replica in scale 1:24: BMW R 1100.

1995: Accessories

Accessories such as helmets, key rings and figurines join the model cars. Creation of the first Formula-One driver helmets in scale 1:8: Heinz-Harald Frentzen and Damon Hill.

1994: Focus on road & race cars

The product line includes replicas in all major collector´s scales. Particular focus is layed onto the development of road cars and racing cars in 1:18th scale. Creation of the first road car in scale 1:18: BMW 3 series Saloon 1993.

1993: Formula 1 rules

The success of Michael Schumacher sharply boosts public interest in formula one racing in Germany. The formula one field in scale 1:43 is introduced into the product range. Creation of the first formula one replicas in scale 1:18: Benetton Williams Ferrari

1992: MINICHAMPS quality makes automotive industry go wow!

The excellent quality of the die-cast models attracts the attention of the car manufacturers. As a consequence the first orders by the automobile industry are placed. Creation of the first formula one replica in scale 1:43: Benetton B 192, driver Michael Schumacher, winner of the Belgian GP.

1991: Start of business in most popular 1:43 scale

The product range is expanded by high-quality replicas in scale 1/24 as well as classic and modern road cars. Creation of the first classic car replica in scale 1:43: Karmann Ghia 1955

1990: How it all started…

Foundation of Paul´s Model Art GmbH by Paul-Gunter Lang on May 1st 1990. China is chosen as production site. The product range includes mainly model cars of the DTM. Creation of the first MINICHAMPS die-cast model in scale 1:43: Audi V8, driver Hans-Joachim Stuck, German Touring Car Champion 1990.
